  Two of hip-hop’s biggest stars have beef and people are taking sides. Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been engaged in a lyrical battle in recent weeks that escalated over the weekend. The two artists each released songs about the other, in one case with Lamar not even waiting a full hour before he dropped a track in response to one of Drake’s. Here’s what you need to know about the verses that have been a hot topic of cultural  conversation . Early collaborations There is plenty we don’t know in terms of why there is apparent animosity between the two superstar rappers, but we do know that there is history. Drake’s Toronto home the site of attempted break-in just one day after shooting, police say

  Just one day after a security guard working at rapper Drake’s Toronto home   was shot , a man on Wednesday was apprehended for attempting to enter the same residence, authorities said. Around 2 p.m. local time, officers were called to the home “after a person attempted to gain access to the property,” Ashley Visser, a media relations officer for the Toronto Police Department, told CNN in a statement on Wednesday. CNN has reached out to a representative for Drake for comment. The person was “apprehended” under Ontario’s Mental Health Act and was “taken to obtain medical assistance,” Visser’s statement read. The  Mental Health Act  allows police officers to take a person who they find reasonable cause to believe is suffering from a mental disorder, and is acting disorderly, in custody to seek medical treatment instead of issuing an arrest. In an Instagram post Wednesday, Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava  said  her “personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization.” “After months of grappling with this decision, I have made the choice to resign from the title of Miss Teen USA 2023,” wrote Srivastava in a statement on her personal account. The high school teen from New Jersey won the pageant back in September and had expressed her pride at being the first Mexican-Indian American to hold the role. “I look forward to the rest of the year as I finish 11th grade as part of the National Honor Society and start the college application process, knowing that my academic career has been defined by my hard work, and my hard work alone,” she added.
